Teaching – Primary (Education & Training) Mundaring Christian College, Perth WA Full Time: 1.0 FTE and Ongoing Commencing: Term 4, 2025 and ongoing Mundaring Christian College is a provider of quality Christian education, dedicated to nurturing the academic and spiritual growth of our students. Situated in the picturesque Perth Hills across two campuses with a Primary Campus in Mundaring and a Secondary Campus in Parkerville. We are seeking a strong, passionate, and enthusiastic Upper Primary Teacher to join our dedicated team. This role will be within the Years 4–6 team, providing students with an engaging, hands-on, and challenging learning environment. The successful applicant will embrace explicit teaching practices , including the OCHRE framework , and will bring a high level of energy, creativity, and commitment to ensuring students are both supported and extended. You will foster independence and critical thinking in older primary students while maintaining a nurturing and faith-centred classroom atmosphere. As an Upper Primary Teacher, you will: Deliver evidence-based, differentiated teaching using explicit instruction and Talk for Writing to improve literacy and learning outcomes. Create engaging, hands-on lessons aligned with the OCHRE framework, setting clear expectations and learning intentions. Use student data and assessments to guide instruction, track progress, and provide timely feedback to students and families. Collaborate with colleagues and Pastoral Care to ensure consistent support and integration of Christian values in teaching and student wellbeing. Actively participate in the broader school community through camps, excursions, and extracurricular activities. What We're Looking For: Essential Demonstrate a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and be an active member of a Christian Church. Accept and align with the Association’s Statement of Faith, Foundational Statements of Belief, and educational objectives. Provide a brief overview of prior experience highlighting relevant qualifications, skills and accomplishments that align with the responsibilities of the role. Desirable Experience with ‘Talk for Writing’. Experience in Talk for Writing pedagogy. Demonstrated use of the OCHRE framework in planning and delivering explicit teaching. Evidence of embedding hands-on learning approaches to deepen engagement and understanding. Strong capacity to foster high expectations, positive relationships, and a culture of joy in learning.
