Introduction The role of our Work Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator provides operational support and advisory service to workers and managers for WHS management purposes. This role will focus on the prevention of workplace accident and injuries, through providing education and a consultancy service to the wider business. The Opportunity Coordinate and facilitate timely assistance to managers/supervisors in managing WHS processes, this will also include the promotion of WHS across AKG and partners Coordinate tasks in the relevant systems for incidents and hazards, including escalation and closing out Coordinate tasks in the relevant systems and monitor staff, visitor, contractor and property, security and hazard incident reports to ensure that incidents and accidents are appropriately investigated by the provision of support to managers/supervisors as required Maintain and manage the inbox ensuring all enquiries are responded to and resolved Collate, file, and organise WHS documents, registers and paperwork following up to ensure compliance and completion as necessary Assist with the planning and conducting of WHS audits and inspections in the Safety Culture including recommendation and closure of corrective actions to ensure that the organisation is able to meet its auditing requirements Provide support in the development and monitoring of subsequent action plans to address the findings in the audit Monitor compliance with relevant WHS legislation About you Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent Proven experience in WHS role Excellent and fast paced processing and data entry skills using spreadsheets and other relative programs Strong problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders Understanding of the unique health and safety risks and emergency response challenges in remote community settings Benefits 5 weeks annual leave after 3 years service Extensive leave provisions including domestic abuse, community service, study leave Ability to purchase or cash out annual leave Education assistance and study leave Flexible working arrangements Proven career development and promotion opportunities Diversity and Inclusion We are proud to hold the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice Citation and be a recognised Disability Confident Company.
