About You You’re ready to transition from the corporate world or are already in a smaller firm and prefer hands-on roles within boutique-sized organisations that are evolving and expanding. We’re seeking a Financial Accountant to join our highly skilled team of Finance professionals supporting our insurer, reinsurer and MGA clients. We work from our offices in the iconic Australia Square building from Monday - Thursday with the option to work from home or the office on Fridays. Role and Responsibilities: Maintenance of general ledgers across different entities Booking of various journal entries, including accruals and prepayments. Preparation of balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations Manage the settlement of various expenses, tax obligations and intercompany balances. Processing monthly payroll and superannuation payments Preparation of monthly management reports Weekly / Monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities. Fixed asset register maintenance. Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements including Balance Sheets, Income Statements and Cashflow as well as general ledger management. Participate / support the external / internal audit processes and requirements. Establish collaborative working relationships with other finance team members, the wider team, and external stakeholders. Qualifications/Personal Attributes : 2 - 4 years minimum accounting experience. Working towards CA or CPA qualification. Experience working within insurance industry will be highly advantageous. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Attention to detail and high accuracy in processing. Proven technical accounting knowledge. Ability to manage and meet deadlines. Motivated and self driven. Client centric attitude. Professional and mature approach in all interactions. Team player.
