We are currently accepting applications for the role of Category Specialist (known as Category Analyst internally) to join our Commercial Team. Reporting to Head of Commercial, the Category Specialist plays a key role in supporting the commercial success of our product ranges through effective sourcing, supplier management, cost control, and data analysis. You’ll combine strong attention to detail with an intuitive, solutions-focused mindset to manage product data, pricing, and supplier information accurately across systems. This highly administrative and fast-paced role requires confidence in Microsoft Excel and Word, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. From managing supplier relationships to supporting negotiations and product setup, you’ll be instrumental in turning insights into actions that drive commercial results. The key focus areas of the role include: Product Hygiene and Maintenance: product setup and maintenance in Maginus (IMS) for Australia and New Zealand; work with the category team on product prioritisation; ensuring all administrative tasks are completed timely and accurately Supplier relationships: Engage with suppliers regularly to discuss performance, product updates, and opportunities; negotiate costs and rebates to support commercial objectives; ensure accurate and timely communication with suppliers and retailers regarding product information, images, and availability. Gather and prepare information from suppliers and internal resources to add new products onto website Run reports as required to support the Category and broader Commercial team Market research: Monitor consumer trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for improvement; recommend strategies to enhance sales, margin, and customer engagement within target markets; analyse pricing, promotions, and category performance to support data-driven decisions. Manage request and provide support to internal departments. Champoining Nisbets core values of 'Working Together, Authenticity, Customer Passion, Agility and Accountability' What You’ll Need to Succeed - Demonstrated experience in a Buyer/Category Assistant or similar role would be advantageous, but not essential - Experience within the hospitality products or FMCG industry is advantageous, but not essential. - Demonstrated understanding of pricing, margin, and product lifecycle management. - Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapts quickly to change - Collaborative team player with the discipline and initiative to work independently - Strong analytical, communication, and organisational abilities - Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines. - Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with local and global suppliers and key stakeholders. - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word at an intermediate to advanced level. - Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build credibility with internal and external stakeholders. - Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to interpret data and make sound recommendations.
