We’re seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Analyst for a 6-month hybrid contract to play a key role in identifying, analysing, and responding to cyber threats while leading the delivery of critical cyber security projects. This is an opportunity to make a real impact — improving cyber resilience, strengthening Essential 8 maturity, and ensuring the organisation’s digital assets remain secure. Must Haves Proven experience in Cyber Security Operations — including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management Strong background delivering cyber and ICT projects using frameworks like PRINCE2 or Agile Hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, Sentinel, PAM, Zero Trust, SOC, and Endpoint Security Understanding of the ACSC Essential 8 and Queensland Government security frameworks (IS18:2022) Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills — able to influence decision-makers Project management expertise across planning, risk management, and reporting Ability to work self-sufficiently in a small, high-performing team Previous government experience (essential) Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT or Cyber Security Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security (highly regarded) What You’ll Do Lead and deliver end-to-end cyber security and ICT projects Provide expert advice on cyber risk, security operations, and threat response Work with technical teams to scope, plan, and execute cyber initiatives Contribute to strategic and operational cyber security plans Engage and influence key government and industry stakeholders Stay across emerging technologies, frameworks, and security standards Apply now or contact Tony on 0482 085 522 / tony@grittalent.com
