Girton Grammar School is seeking an engaging English Teacher to develop and deliver high-quality lessons, to maintain and build on our academic success. This is a full-time and ongoing teaching position starting in January 2026. Part-time applications may also be considered. The primary responsibility of this role is to teach English from Year 7 through to VCE, inspiring students to develop both a passion for the subject and strong literacy skills in reading and writing. The successful applicant will engage students in critical thinking, discussion, and analysis, fostering a deep appreciation of literature and language, and their relevance to the world beyond the classroom. The successful candidate will also assist in the design and implementation of a robust English curriculum that purposefully integrates the principles of Cognitive Load Theory, Explicit Instruction, and the Science of Learning.
