About us The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. About the role The Application Support Specialist is tasked with providing thorough support for Authority's enterprise applications, maintaining their reliability, security, and peak performance. This role collaborates with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, introduce enhancements, and promote ongoing improvements to address business requirements and achieve high-quality results. About you You are a skilled IT professional with a strong background in enterprise application support and a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset. You will bring: Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise applications across their lifecycle, including planning, research, testing, configuration, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation. Proven ability to work closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to gather, assess, and analyse system enhancement requirements. A solid understanding of security, privacy, and compliance principles, with experience embedding these considerations into application support activities through risk assessment and control implementation. Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of investigating and resolving system issues by identifying root causes and coordinating effective solutions with vendors and internal teams. Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to produce and maintain clear, accurate process guides, operational procedures, technical specifications, and knowledge base articles.
