About the role: We are looking for a person who is: passionate about making a real difference to people's health through large-scale, systemic health system design a curious person and big-picture thinker, interested in emerging health trends, and able to use your communication skills to influence others and drive reform opportunities, and a team player who works collaboratively with others to share ideas, develop, and test options, and support and lead high-quality work. In this role, you will be working on multiple system design projects with a strong focus on the service capability framework program and supporting the System Design and Planning Unit to develop and deliver on system wide reforms – with a strong focus on the hospital system – that improve the health of Victorians. Some of the ways we do this are by: developing the strategic design frameworks, such as role delineation, that set the direction of the hospital system now, and into the future, developing and delivering the service capability framework program, and identifying whole of system design opportunities and delivering on government commitments. Our team operates in a dynamic environment with curiosity, enthusiasm, and initiative. We work collaboratively with other teams in the department – such as health service managers, data scientists and policy specialists – as well as with health sector representatives. About you: A tertiary qualification in fields related to health, health economics, data analytics or public administration would be desirable. Essential: A strong working knowledge of system thinking Strongly desirable but not essential: A strong understanding and knowledge of the policy context and direction of the Victorian health system, the environment it operates in and relevant departmental systems. Other technical skills or knowledge that would support you to deliver this role, e.g., clinical experience. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experience analysing large health datasets to inform decision-making.
