This high-profile department works across a varied remit aiming to deliver the government’s climate change and energy agenda and protect Australia’s environment and resources. You’ll join the Consumer Energy Resources (CER) Taskforce, which is responsible for driving Australia’s commitment to transition consumer assets to renewables. The Taskforce was established to deliver priorities under the National Consumer Energy Resources Roadmap and includes members from government, market bodies, industry and consumer representatives. The Opportunity There is an opportunity for an EL1 Project Manager to join the team on a 6-month labour hire contract with possible extension. This contract offers the opportunity to: Contribute towards Australia’s renewable energy transition Join a team of like-minded individuals in a fast-paced and outcomes-focused taskforce environment Utilise your project management expertise in project planning, program delivery, briefing and reporting Secure a labour hire contract over the Christmas period The Role The key responsibilities of the position include: Providing project management support to assist with the delivery of CER Roadmap projects within set timeframes, facilitating communication across teams and workstreams to ensure consistency in project management approaches Drafting, reviewing, monitoring and updating project documents and artefacts, including project plans, meeting papers, budgets, risk registers, tools, templates, dashboards and other key documents Consulting with CER Taskforce stream leads to coordinate program-level reporting requirements by collating quality reports and establishing strong communication to ensure a high standard of stakeholder engagement Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, collaboration, negotiation and issues management to engage stakeholders and strengthen governance practices across all entities The Ideal Person To be successful in this role, you will have experience operating at the EL1 level in Commonwealth Government leading the delivery of complex projects and workstreams. Ideally, you’ll have experience operating in a fast-paced and high-pressure Taskforce environment. Subject matter knowledge in renewable energy is highly desirable. You’ll also have: Experience developing and maintaining project documentation, such as project plans, budgets, risk registers, and dashboards Proficiency in project management tools and templates, and familiarity with program-level reporting frameworks Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft and review high-quality reports, meeting papers, and briefing materials Experience in governance support, such as facilitating committees, working groups or steering groups Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and propose practical solutions To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and hold an active Baseline security clearance.
