Take ownership of purchasing operations, build supplier relationships and improve processes across a busy food manufacturing environment. I’m partnering with a long-standing Australian food manufacturer known for its quality, consistency and loyal customer base. With continued growth across retail and foodservice channels, they’re now looking to appoint a Purchasing Officer to support the day-to-day purchasing and inventory function at head office. This role will manage purchasing for ingredients, packaging and consumables, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to keep production running smoothly. It’s well suited to someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys structure, accuracy and taking ownership to drive practical process improvements. Key Responsibilities • Raise and manage purchase orders to meet production schedules • Liaise with suppliers on pricing, lead times and delivery performance • Monitor stock levels, forecast usage and address potential shortages • Maintain accuracy of data, pricing and receipts in the ERP system • Review invoices and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and finance • Identify and implement process improvements across purchasing workflows • Collaborate with production, warehousing and logistics teams What You Will Need • Three to five years experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory management within food, FMCG or manufacturing • Proven ability to take ownership and improve purchasing systems and processes • Confident communicator with strong organisational and follow-through skills • Experience with an ERP such as Pronto, SAP or similar, and strong Excel capability • Reliable, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities What’s on Offer Package: $85,000 - $100,000 superannuation (dependent on experience) If you have any questions or are interested in this role, please get in touch with Elisha Hunter at Blackbook Executive on 03 9823 7424 or elisha@blackbookexecutive.com.au
