Platinum Pacific Partners is pleased to be partnering with one of Australia’s leading industry super funds on an important, newly created role within the Income Assets Division. This is a Portfolio Manager role for the Australian Income strategy. This multi-billion-dollar sleeve of capital is currently managed externally, and this role will be the first to lead the process of internalising the strategy and managing the portfolio directly. The role will be responsible for the overall delivery of investment performance, including portfolio construction, economic research, investment strategy, portfolio risk management, and data enhancements. The business already manages a small pool of capital directly, so all operational components and broader investment infrastructure are in place. This provides the successful candidate with a strong platform for success, enabling them to leverage the strengths of the manager quickly to deliver returns for members. We are seeking an experienced candidate with a proven track record in Australian Income investing, likely with a strong understanding of interest rates, duration, quantitative analysis, and broader investment strategy. The role will sit as part of the senior management team and the investment committee for Income Assets. Candidates with experience using Blackrock Alladin will be seen favourably. The desired skillset will complement the current team’s strong capability in Australian and global credit investing. This role will involve management and team leadership and is considered a crucial hire for the development of this investment function in the immediate too long term. Further scope, once the Australian Income funds are internalised, will include applying the same concepts to global aggregate strategies.
