About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Support Worker to join our growing team. This role focuses on helping families and children overcome short- and long-term challenges, supporting them through case management, emotional assistance, and practical interventions. You will work closely with families, allied health professionals, and external agencies to build resilience, improve wellbeing, and strengthen family relationships. Key Responsibilities • Conduct family needs assessments and develop tailored support plans. • Provide practical and emotional support to families experiencing hardship, neglect, or behavioural challenges. • Facilitate referrals to housing, health, education, and community services. • Support parents and caregivers to enhance parenting skills, household management, and emotional wellbeing. • Document case notes, maintain accurate records, and prepare progress reports. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, person-centred outcomes. • Participate in case reviews, supervision, and training to support continuous improvement. Skills and Attributes • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with families and children. • Ability to manage complex situations with empathy and cultural sensitivity. • Knowledge of NDIS and child protection frameworks. • Sound report writing, documentation, and case management skills. • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or within a team environment. Qualifications and Requirements • Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services, Family Support, Social Work, or a related field (AQF Level 5 or above). • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a family or community support setting, preferably under the NDIS. • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check , Working with Children Check (WWCC) , and National Police Clearance . • Current First Aid/CPR certificate and a valid Australian driver’s licence . • Understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice models.
