About the role The Senior Manager, Board Governance is responsible for delivering governance frameworks, policies and processes that uphold superannuation trustee and corporate governance requirements for Cbus. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of board activities, offering strategic governance guidance and driving continuous improvement in governance standards. Reporting to the Head of Board Governance, you will support the smooth functioning of board operations by managing director succession planning, facilitating fitness and propriety assessments, overseeing director nominations and performance reviews and maintaining accurate records for board skills and training. Key accountabilities Maintain director tenure records and report upcoming term expirations to support Trustee Board continuity and succession planningCoordinate director succession with shareholder organisations in line with governance requirements and legal frameworksManage fitness and propriety (F&P) assessments and annual performance reviews for directors and the Chair, including preparation of related reports and submissionsOversee board skills and learning programs, including skills matrix updates, assessments and individual training plansEnsure quality and compliance of board papers by guiding contributors and reviewing submissions to meet governance standards What will you bring? Experience in a similar Corporate Governance operations role, ideally within the superannuation sectorStrong understanding of relevant regulations including SIS Act, APRA standards (SPS515 & SPS520), and ASIC requirementsSolid knowledge of corporate governance best practice and trustee responsibilitiesHigh attention to detail and ability to follow complex processes under pressureEffective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and teamwork skills Belong at Cbus We value difference, and embrace people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, gender identities, abilities and thinking styles.
