CFA is currently recruiting for a full-time, fixed-term position within our Health, Safety and Wellbeing department, available in 2026. The primary role of this Health & Safety Advisor role is to provide project support to ensure the successful delivery of specific health and safety projects as assigned from time to time, including but not limited to, the development of control measures specific to critical hazards and associated risk control strategies (including stakeholder engagement and consultation), supporting the development of the OHS Management System aligned to ISO 45001 and associated reporting. Key responsibilities include: Partner with the Regional Leadership Team to build a positive Safety First culture focused on continuous improvement Analyse and report on incident trends and develop localised corrective action strategies Support interpretation of relevant OHS legislation, compliance codes, standards and operating procedures Participate in incident investigations using ICAM methodology Support the implementation of the H&S Strategic Plan objectives within the Region. Assist with the development and review of H&S policies, procedures and supporting documentation Support local management to minimise H&S risks within the workplace Develop hazard recognition and mitigation skills within brigade management teams. Collaborate within a team of Health and Safety Advisors and across the HSW department to influence organisational H&S performance. About You To be the successful candidate you will be tertiary qualified in a Health and Safety related discipline and have experience across a multi-site organisation. You will be experienced in coordinating and delivering projects, highly developed skills in building and maintaining relationships, excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills including, highly developed written and verbal skills and the ability to prepare detailed reports. A proven capacity to work with minimal supervision and achieve outcomes on time; and comprehensive computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications Please note, this role requires regional travel across Victoria. A full driver's licence is required, a vehicle will be supplied for use by the successful applicant.
