Made In Italy Alexandria is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct preparation and cooking of food at our restaurant. Tasks include: - Develop and update menus, taking into account seasonal ingredients, customer preferences and cost considerations. - Oversee the preparation and presentation of Italian dishes to maintain high standards of taste and appearance throughout service. - Collaborate with management, kitchen, and front o house staff to resolve any food preparation concerns. - Share culinary expertise by demonstrating cooking methods and guiding team members on best practices. - Take charge of preparing and cooking a variety of high quality, made fresh Italian dishes ensuring consistency and quality. - Promote food safety and hygiene standards within the kitchen environment. - Oversee proper storage and rotation of stock to maintain freshness and minimise waste. - Coordinating kitchen operations. - Managing inventory – ordering food supplies. The right candidate will have the following Skills and experience: Relevant qualification or experience in lieu Minimum 2 years experience in the hospitality industry (Italian Cuisine preferred) Chef: 1 year (Required) Experience with special dietary requirements Be able to order, source, prepare, and cook Italian food to a high standard Provide training and mentoring to staff members A proven track record of attendance reliability and a professional attitude Ability to show initiative and problem-solving capability The employment is full-time, with min. 38 hours per week.
