The firm is values-driven, client-focused and offers high-quality, specialist work with direct client contact and meaningful file ownership. The role An opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join a busy Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. The successful candidate will manage complex disputes across litigation, mediation and ADR, lead matter strategy, and mentor junior lawyers. This is a senior, high‑impact role suited to an ambitious practitioner seeking ownership and a platform for further career progression. Key responsibilities Own and run a varied litigation caseload from pleadings through to hearings and appeals. Lead and represent clients in mediations and ADR; prepare without-prejudice offers and settlement deeds. Provide strategic advice and run matters involving business partner/shareholder disputes, directors’ duties claims, forced buyouts and corporate disputes. Act on commercial lease and real-estate disputes (retail leases, rent review, make-good, boundary and related matters). Manage tax dispute matters including audits, objections, AAT and Federal Court proceedings and negotiation with revenue authorities. Draft pleadings, submissions, settlement documentation and strategic position papers. Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and contribute to business development and client management. Skills & experience Admitted solicitor in Australia with ~6 years’ post-admission experience for Senior Associate or ~9 years for Special Counsel in litigation/dispute resolution. Demonstrated experience in commercial litigation and ADR; experience with partner/shareholder, lease and tax disputes highly regarded. Strong advocacy, negotiation and drafting skills; comfortable in court and mediation settings. Commercial, client-focused approach with excellent communication and relationship skills. Proven ability to manage multiple matters and lead small teams. Based in Melbourne or willing to relocate; eligible to work in Australia.
