About the Role AELERT’s Chief Executive Officer provides operational governance and oversight to ensure the organisation fulfils its strategic objectives and effectively manages day-to-day operations. The Chief Executive Officer leads the Leadership Team, which is responsible for implementing AELERT’s Strategic Plan and delivering the key activities that advance AELERT’s purpose and objectives. In addition, the Chief Executive Officer is expected to ensure AELERT’s strategic objectives are fulfilled; COLLABORATE - to solve common regulatory challenges. GROW - by cultivating our collective capability. INNOVATE - to address emerging regulatory challenges. The AELERT Leadership Team is currently being hosted by the South Australian Environment Protection Authority (EPA). Structurally the role reports to the EPA's Deputy Chief Executive. Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge or Experience Practical experience working in a regulatory environment would be an advantage. Post graduate qualification in management or a related discipline. Location While not mandatory, there is a preference that the candidate be based in South Australia. Contract Term contract (until 30 June 2028) and full time (37.5 hours per week). Remuneration SAES1 ($167,239 - $257,291 per annum) as well as 12% super to your choice of super fund. Special Conditions This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. A current National Police Clearance is essential. The role will require engagement with members across Australia, New Zealand and internationally and may require some travel interstate. The incumbent may be required to work out of hours and as the need arises.
