About the role: Within this role, you will provide strategic leadership in the design, integration, and delivery of cloud-centric IT systems, while managing engineering teams and aligning technical execution with enterprise objectives. The position blends systems engineering and architectural expertise with engineering management responsibilities, contributing to both technical direction and organisational capability development. This is a contract until end of June 2026 with possibility of extension. Key responsibilities include: Lead the development of enterprise-wide cloud and IT solution architectures aligned with strategic business goals. Oversee the specification and design of complex IT systems integrating cloud services, legacy platforms, and emerging technologies. Direct engineering teams across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and security domains, ensuring delivery excellence. Manage integration and delivery of technical staff and vendors, Champion innovation in cloud engineering practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Develop enterprise architecture frameworks and ensure alignment between business strategy, IT capabilities, and operational models. Build organisational engineering capability through mentoring, process improvement, and workforce development. Manage integration of complex IT systems and cloud services, ensuring seamless interoperability and compliance. NV2 is mandatory for this contract due to the nature of the work. Following experience, skills and qualifications needed: Qualifications in Computer Science, IT Systems Engineering, or related discipline. Experience in leading delivery of cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IT systems engineering. Proven leadership in engineering management and technical strategy. Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud security. Experience in Defence or AIC, ISR, or intelligence domains is highly desirable.
