About the role We require an Operations Coordinator, to support the team in managing and ensuring the smooth operations of Southern Cross Station - Australia's largest transportation hub. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the transport hub runs efficiently, safely, and in a way that meets both operational and customer service standards. This is a full-time, fixed term position until June 2026. Reporting to the Operations Manager, some key responsibilities will include: Support the implementation of projects and their requirements, including ensuring WHS risk minimisation to passengers and minimal disruption to operations. Coordinating with stakeholders ensuring adequate resources are allocated to meet operational demands, especially during peak times and special events. Assist in overseeing the daily operations to ensure that all transportation, security, and service activities run smoothly. Be a key point of contact, coordinating communication between key stakeholders and service providers. Ensuring the facility complies with all relevant local and national work health & safety regulations, ensuring a safe and secure environment for its customers and passengers. Assist in the oversight of service provider contracts, ensuring adherence and performance of the contracts, to maximise performance and minimise abatements. Support the Operations Manager in the execution of initiatives in pursuit of growth opportunities and cost optimisation efforts. Mitigate risks and activities that may adversely affect the operations of the facility and its stakeholders by responding quickly to issues that arise About you Ideally you will come from a facilities/operations/project management background for a multi-functional asset where public safety is paramount and strong stakeholder management is key. You will also have: Exposure to contract management across facilities or projects with multiple service providers. Real-time problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and make sound decisions in high-stress situations Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, transport providers, contractors, and vendors Experience in supporting projects, with multiple stakeholders involved, preferably in construction or infrastructure including government, or a large public venue Exceptional communication and relationship management skills. 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role. This is an on the ground, fast paced role. You will need to be flexible in working between 2 offices, located approximately 4 mins walk apart.
