We’re looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised person to join our Arts, Culture and Heritage team as an Arts and Culture Support Officer . In this role, you’ll help bring the Creative City portfolio to life by supporting community arts programs, cultural events, and creative initiatives that celebrate the unique stories of Hobsons Bay. You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of Woods Street Arts Space in Laverton , a vibrant hub for creativity and community connection. No two days are the same — from supporting artists and community groups, coordinating bookings and events, managing social media content, to making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes — you’ll be at the heart of it all. What you'll do Support the day-to-day operational needs of the unit, which includes compiling expressions of interest materials, artist agreements, financial administration, database management and ticketing Act as the primary contact for Woods Street Arts Space, facilitating operations, including customer enquiries, venue bookings, rostering, and lodging maintenance requests Contribute to marketing and promotion of Woods Street Arts Space and other areas of the portfolio, including the generation of digital screens, social media content What you'll need to succeed Demonstrated ability in project management concerning the coordination and support of cultural programs while meeting deadlines Strong administration and customer service skills Strong knowledge of digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Smarty grants, and ticketing platforms, such as Eventbrite Demonstrated capacity to work with diverse communities to deliver creative projects that explore, express, and share the community’s cultural, social heritage, and local identity Applications should include A cover letter which should outline your interest A current CV which includes key achievements & relevant qualifications To find out more about the role, please contact Tanya Blackwell, Coordinator Arts, Culture & Heritage on hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au or 03 9932 1276 .
