You will ensure Council’s assets are safe, well maintained, and cost-effective, while providing technical and leadership expertise to guide services across the municipality. About the Role As Coordinator Facilities Management, you will play a vital role in the ongoing maintenance and development of Council’s diverse building portfolio. This includes overseeing inspections, condition assessments, and proactive maintenance planning, as well as ensuring compliance with policies, budgets, and community expectations. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and supporting a small team of officers, casual staff, and contractors to deliver responsive and customer-focused services. Providing technical expertise to resolve complex facility planning and management issues. Managing budgets and ensuring services deliver value for money. Contributing to the development and implementation of asset management plans to optimise the life cycle of Council’s assets. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, contractors, and the community to ensure Council facilities are safe, functional, and future-ready. About the Successful Candidate We are seeking a proactive and skilled facilities management professional who thrives in a leadership role. You will bring strong technical knowledge of building and facility management, project management, and asset planning, along with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will ideally have: Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in building, facility, or project management. Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team, contractors, and consultants. Proven success in delivering asset management programs and achieving service outcomes. Strong financial management, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. A current Victorian driver’s licence.
