In this role, you’ll provide expert advice to the community and stakeholders on urban and rural land use, development, and long-term strategies that shape both new and established communities across Baw Baw. You’ll take the lead on planning scheme amendments, project management, and cross-organisational initiatives, building strong relationships along the way to deliver integrated planning outcomes for our region. A key focus of the position is the development and implementation of policies, strategies, and plans that drive sustainable growth for Baw Baw Shire, aligning with both State Government priorities and Council’s vision for the future. About the Successful Candidate You will hold relevant qualifications in urban planning or a similar field and have demonstrated experience working on policy development, strategy implementation and project management. You will have knowledge and an understanding of the planning scheme amendment process and other relevant legislation. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to deliver high-level, professional planning advice across the organisation, including the Strategic Planning, Statutory Planning and Priority Development teams, as well as to other departments, Council, and the wider community.
