THE ROLE DB Schenker is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to oversee and manage inventory operations for our valued clients. This role is critical in ensuring inventory integrity, optimizing warehouse productivity, and delivering exceptional service aligned with both client and company objectives. What You’ll Be Doing: Client & Account Management You will be responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with DB Schenker’s clients, ensuring that both strategic objectives and service expectations are consistently met or exceeded. This includes actively participating in client meetings and service reviews to understand evolving needs, monitor satisfaction levels, and align logistics solutions with business goals. Your ability to build trust and long-term partnerships will be essential in maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Inventory Management A core part of your role involves overseeing inventory accuracy and integrity across Schenker Logistics sites. You will identify and investigate stock discrepancies, process inventory issues promptly, and coordinate stock-takes, cycle counts, and bin checks. Monitoring pallet control transactions and ensuring accurate tracking of product movement—including receipt, dispatch, and storage—will be key to maintaining operational efficiency. You will also support continuous improvement initiatives by refining inventory processes and procedures. Operational Oversight & Service Delivery You will oversee day-to-day logistics and transport operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective service delivery. This includes assisting with slotting and process flow optimization to enhance productivity, and leading or supporting logistics projects such as new customer implementations and warehouse design. You will ensure that any operational issues are escalated appropriately and that site teams conform to company procedures and standards. Team Leadership & Development As a supervisor, you will lead and mentor a team of logistics and customer service professionals. You will foster a collaborative and accountable team culture, promote continuous learning, and support the development of team members through coaching and performance management. Your role includes managing the employee lifecycle using Schenker tools and processes, from recruitment to productivity enhancement. Issue Resolution & Complaint Management You will ensure that all service-related issues and customer complaints are addressed promptly and effectively. By conducting root cause analysis on recurring incidents, you will identify systemic issues and implement corrective actions that drive continuous improvement. Your problem-solving skills will be critical in maintaining high service standards and customer satisfaction. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), customer feedback, and operational statistics will be part of your regular responsibilities. You will prepare reports that highlight trends, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement, providing valuable insights to senior management and client stakeholders. Accurate data transfer and reporting will be essential to support decision-making and transparency. Process Improvement & Innovation You will champion process optimization across customer service and logistics functions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will identify inefficiencies, streamline workflows, and implement innovative solutions that enhance the overall customer experience. Your contributions will support DB Schenker’s commitment to operational excellence. Financial Awareness & Cost Control Maintaining awareness of budgetary constraints and financial performance related to logistics operations is crucial. You will support cost-saving initiatives while ensuring that service quality remains uncompromised. Your ability to balance efficiency with customer satisfaction will contribute to sustainable business outcomes. Teamwork & Collaboration You will promote a collaborative working environment across departments, encouraging open communication, knowledge sharing, and joint problem-solving. Your leadership will help unify efforts toward common goals and foster a culture of mutual support and continuous improvement. Other Duties as Assigned In addition to your core responsibilities, you will support strategic projects, audits, and compliance initiatives as outlined in the official position description. You may also be expected to participate in meetings, town halls, and working groups outside traditional working hours, with flexibility provided to accommodate these engagements.
