Position: Carpenter – House Renovations & Paint-Prep Employer: Nice and Smooth Location: Noosaville (Sunshine Coast) Tenure: Full-time, permanent Salary: $65,000–$85,000 super (DOE) About Nice and Smooth Nice and Smooth is a Noosaville-based residential painting and renovations crew known for premium finishes, tidy worksites, and friendly service across the Sunshine Coast. We predominantly deliver interior/exterior repaints and restoration projects. To keep schedules tight and finishes flawless, we’re adding a hands-on carpenter to own the renovation and substrate-prep scope ahead of painting. Responsibilities You’ll deliver light–medium renovations, repairs, and high-standard finish carpentry to bring substrates to a paint-ready condition, coordinating with painters and the site supervisor to rectify defects, meet program milestones, and keep worksites safe and tidy. Workmanship must be straight, flush, square, and smooth to maximise coating longevity and client satisfaction. Duties Assess and rectify substrates before paint: repair/replace rotten timbers, weatherboards, eaves, fascia, trims Minor framing and alterations; install/repair doors and windows; fit hardware and locksets Internal linings: install plasterboard/sheetrock, patch/set, install cornice/square-set, sand to paint-ready finish High-end fix-out: skirtings, architraves, jambs, sills, VJs/panelling; adjust cabinetry for fit and finish Exterior works: repair decks/steps/pergolas; cladding and flashing touch-ups; gap, caulk and seal to spec Read plans, measure accurately, plan materials, maintain safe/clean sites, and close out defects promptly Qualifications Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent) or substantial, directly relevant residential renovations experience in lieu of formal qualification Construction White Card Current driver’s licence (Desirable) Basic working-at-heights/EWP tickets Skills Precision finish carpentry and paint-prep standards (straight, flush, square, smooth) Competent set-out, minor structural rectification, and renovation problem-solving Plan reading and accurate measurement Efficient defect identification and close-out, with strong attention to detail Professional communication and coordination with painters, supervisors, and clients Safe work practices and site housekeeping Experience Residential renovations/maintenance carpentry experience, ideally 2 years across alterations, repairs, and finish carpentry Demonstrated preparation of interiors/exteriors to paint-ready standard, including timber repairs, linings/setting, and high-end fix-out Experience delivering within repaint/renovation programs to schedule with minimal rework Other Applicants must have unlimited right to work in Australia ; only shortlisted candidates will be contacted This position is advertised by At Ease Solutions on behalf of the employer
