The Role As a Project Accountant, you’ll be responsible for the accurate accounting and reporting of capital, exploration, project development, and resource definition expenditure across the Group. You will lead compliance with internal policies and accounting standards while providing financial insight and support to project managers and exploration/development teams to drive cost control and informed decision-making. Your responsibilities will include: Ensuring accurate accounting and reporting of capital, exploration, and project development expenditure in line with IFRS, internal policies, and compliance standards. Monitoring project budgets against actuals, reporting variances, and providing financial insight to project managers and operational teams. Maintaining and reconciling fixed asset registers, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and timely capitalisation of assets. Capturing and allocating exploration and development costs across projects and tenements, including impairment reviews and statutory reporting requirements. Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes for capital, exploration, and project development teams, including preparation of reports in Pronto and Qlik. Partnering with project, exploration, and development teams to provide timely financial data, analysis, and recommendations to drive informed decision-making. Improving processes by critically assessing current procedures and strengthening internal controls and reporting frameworks. Preparing reconciliations, audit information, and statutory reporting inputs for the Senior Financial Accountant and Group Financial Controller. About You You are a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant who thrives in a dynamic and growth-focused environment. You combine technical accounting expertise with strong analytical skills and the ability to partner effectively with operational teams. You bring: Tertiary qualification in accounting or a related discipline, with CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accreditation (or working towards). Proven experience in accounting within an ASX-listed company or mining-related environment. Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and financial insights. Ability to critically evaluate and improve processes, systems, and policies, proactively identifying and resolving complex finance and accounting issues. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across multiple functions, including remote stakeholders, while maintaining professionalism and integrity. Excellent analytical, organisational, planning, and communication skills, with a commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and contributing to a high-performing team environment.
