The Senior Advisor plays a key role in the Disability team's governance procedures across reporting, Ministerial correspondence and a range of policy and implementation initiatives. The Senior Advisor will work across the work of the Disability System Policy team and National Reform team. The successful candidate will be required to: Provide advice on the application of key departmental policies and procedures related to disability and student inclusion Write ministerial and senior officer responses to correspondence within tight timeframes Design high quality resources and documents for distribution and publication Conduct and manage procurement and tender processes including contract management Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Adobe Creative Suite software an advantage. About You! The successful candidate will demonstrate the following: Demonstrated leadership, collaboration and project management skills Exceptional written skills to present messages in a clear and concise manner, with the ability to apply negotiation and consultation skills to contribute to collaborative solutions and implement appropriate strategic responses Proven capacity to develop strategic policy, guidelines, and implementation strategies High level research and analytical skills, with proven ability to initiate, implement and report on complex projects within set timeframes Record of contribution to strategies and initiatives to support the achievement of work unit outcomes including the ability to build and sustain positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of best practice, legislation, policies, and trends in improving outcomes for students with disability, and student inclusion, with a proven ability to prepare related reports and submissions at a senior level.
