About the Role Albany Creek State High School is seeking a dedicated and proactive Schools Officer - Grounds to ensure our school grounds are maintained to a high standard. Reporting to the Principal or Business Manager, you will play a key role in creating a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and the wider school community. Key Responsibilities: Maintain school ovals, gardens, and grounds, including mowing, watering, weeding, and caring for plants and trees. Conduct general maintenance of grounds equipment and ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines. Assist with repairs and maintenance of fences, gates, paving, irrigation, and swimming pools (e.g., water testing and chemical adjustments). Prepare and maintain outdoor sporting facilities and assist with grounds improvement projects. Safely handle and store chemicals, fertilisers, and fuel, and coordinate the removal of rubbish as required.
