About the Opportunity Are you passionate about stakeholder engagement and making a real impact on rail safety? ONRSR is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive External Engagement Advisor to lead key initiatives that support industry compliance with the Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) and promote continuous safety improvement. This newly created role will be part of ONRSR’s Stakeholder Engagement and Influence team and play a key role in delivering our national Engagement and Education Program, working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders across the country. This dynamic position will lead the delivery of online and in-person events aimed at promoting safety awareness and regulatory compliance, manage an annual calendar of industry engagement activities, and build strong partnerships to support ONRSR’s strategic goals. This role will also contribute to the development of educational initiatives aligned with national safety improvement priorities, assist in the production of key publications such as the ONRSR Annual Report and Rail Safety Report, and create engaging content for various platforms including newsletters, presentations, and digital media. The role will also manage the stakeholder database, support the collection and reporting of stakeholder feedback, and contribute to the continuous improvement of ONRSR’s communication and engagement practices. You will have a strong track record in developing and implementing effective communication and engagement strategies, along with excellent project management skills that allow you to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously. Your written and verbal communication skills are exceptional, with the ability to create clear, engaging content across a variety of platforms. You are a natural relationship builder who can collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external. Key to success in this role is that you have: Proven experience in event management, stakeholder engagement, and communication within a regulatory, government, or industry background. Experience in developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies. Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver multiple initiatives simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in preparing a range of communications materials. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work flexibly in response to changing priorities and deadlines. Experience in understanding stakeholder needs and aligning them with organisational goals.
