The Salvation Army is seeking a Community Support Team Leader to inspire, guide, and empower a committed team supporting men (and those identifying as male) who are experiencing homelessness and complex needs. About the role You will be at the heart of two key residential services — Flagstaff Accommodation (West Melbourne) and The Open Door (North Melbourne) — leading a team of passionate staff who are there 24/7 to create a welcoming, safe, and healing environment. Reporting to the Flagstaff Manager, this is a permanent full-time position based in Flagstaff, VIC. How you will make an impact Lead a dynamic team of 6 support staff to provide responsive, compassionate care around the clock Drive trauma-informed, client-centred and strengths-based practices as part of TSA’s Model of Care Build an inclusive, culturally safe space that honours the diversity of our community Collaborate with a rich network of services — from Alcohol & Other Drugs, case management, and health services to on-site chaplaincy and catering — ensuring holistic support for every resident Cultivate a positive, accountable and empowering team culture Manage operations across two key residential services, while ensuring excellence in safety, risk management, and service delivery What you will bring A seasoned professional with a degree in Social Work, Community Development or a related field A natural leader who has supervised teams in complex service environments Deeply committed to human rights, equity, and justice — and ready to lead through values of compassion, integrity, and respect Experienced working with people who face homelessness, trauma, mental health challenges and systemic disadvantage A clear communicator and calm problem solver, even in crisis An advocate for continuous improvement, cultural inclusion and quality care About Us The Salvation Army Homelessness Melbourne Metro is one of the largest providers of homelessness services in Victoria.
