Tell me about this role: We’re on the hunt for an NV1 cleared Infrastructure Systems Administrator who can join our team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the Defence Naval Systems. What will I be doing day to day? Administer and maintain Windows Server (2022) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 systems. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco switches/routers and FortiGate firewalls. Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and system security/hardening. Configure, support, and optimize Hyper-V and VMware virtualization environments. Monitor system and network performance, applying patches, updates, and hotfixes. Maintain and update documentation for all operational and new ICT systems, services, and processes to support effective management. Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture, supporting cohesion and operational excellence. What sort of skills do I need? Minimum 5 years’ experience in systems administration, preferably within a medium to large IT environment. Strong experience as a Windows and/or Linux (RHEL) Systems Administrator. Proven experience with Cisco networking and FortiGate firewalls, including VLANs, routing protocols, VPNs, and multicast. Solid knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Hands-on experience with Hyper-V, VMware, and Veeam Backup & Replication. Exposure to cybersecurity practices and security awareness. Australian citizenship and NV1 clearance required as a minimum.
