Description: The Country Manager in Australia and New Zealand is a pivotal leadership role focused on driving the strategic expansion of our hotel brands through development initiatives and deal signings with hotel owners. Reporting toPresident Growth ASPAC (Direct) and Group President ASPAC (Dotted), this position is dedicated to facilitating Hyatt's growth, with 70% of responsibilities centered on development activities, while the remaining 30% will involve managing owner relations and addressing their needs effectively. Accountable For: Achieve and exceed the annual NRG (Net-Room-Growth) target. - Market Insight and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify growth opportunities through Feasibility and assess competitive dynamics. - Deal Negotiation and Execution: Lead the identification, negotiation, and finalization of agreements with hotel owners to enhance Hyatt's presence in the market. - Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including real estate developers and hotel owners, to foster strategic partnerships. - New Owner Exploration: Actively explore and engage with potential new owners to identify and secure new deals that align with Hyatt's growth strategy. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in tandem with brand Managing Directors and other Hyatt functions to ensure their support for the growth strategy. - Leadership of Development Teams: Lead and mentor developers in the country to achieve ambitious growth goals, fostering a high-performance culture. Achieve a minimum satisfaction score in annual owner surveys. - Primary Liaison and Engagement: Act as the principal contact point for hotel owners, maintaining regular communication to address their needs, concerns, and expectations promptly and professionally. - Issue Resolution and Support: Facilitate collaboration among Hyatt functions to efficiently resolve issues and provide ongoing guidance regarding operational challenges, marketing strategies, and compliance with brand standards. - Feedback Integration and Loop: Gather and synthesize feedback from owners to inform strategic decisions, establish a mechanism for continuous improvement, and relay insights to corporate teams. - Conflict Resolution: Mediate disputes between hotel owners and corporate management, ensuring a collaborative approach. - Networking and Performance Reviews: Organize and attend hospitality events to strengthen relationships, and conduct regular performance assessments with hotel owners to provide constructive feedback and identify areas for growth. - Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with hotel owners to align local strategies with corporate objectives, promoting a unified approach to brand development. Qualifications: Experience - Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years in hotel development, real estate, or related fields, demonstrating a successful track record in deal-making. - Leadership Competence: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, enabling effective management of relationships with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrate those attributes of Hyatt leadership expectations. - Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market trends and make informed, data-driven decisions. - Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Education and Expertise (i.e., certificates, licenses, etc.) BA in Hospitality Management, or a related field. A Master's in Hospitality Management can enhance qualifications.
