We’re currently seeking an experienced and qualified Shutdown Planner to join our Engineering team in a full-time capacity. About the Role The Shutdown Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of scheduled shutdowns across Dreamworld and WhiteWater World. This position is responsible for developing and coordinating detailed shutdown plans that clearly define scope, timelines, resources, and compliance requirements. It brings together all necessary QA documentation, permits, risk assessments, and isolation plans while collaborating closely with Engineering, Operations, Safety, and contractors to ensure every shutdown is fully planned, resourced, and ready for execution. Key Responsibilities Develop comprehensive shutdown documentation, including scopes of work, QA forms, permits, risk assessments, and isolation/LOTO plans Ensure all OEM, manufacturer, and manual requirements are correctly incorporated into each shutdown package Plan and schedule detailed shutdown timelines, allocating durations, identifying critical paths, and sequencing tasks to minimise downtime Confirm all components, spare parts, consumables, and contractor resources are secured ahead of shutdown commencement Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Safety, Stores, and external contractors to align shutdown planning Lead pre- and post-shutdown meetings to communicate scope, risks, constraints, and lessons learned Deliver the completed shutdown package to the Shutdown Supervisor and provide a full briefing before execution Support the execution phase by clarifying documentation or sequencing where required Capture and apply lessons learned from each shutdown to improve efficiency and compliance Continuously refine templates, QA forms, and planning tools to strengthen future shutdown performance About You – The ideal candidate will have: Experience in maintenance or shutdown planning within engineering or technical operations Proficiency with scheduling or maintenance management systems (e.g. MS Project, Office 365) Strong understanding of QA processes, risk assessments, and isolation/LOTO requirements Confidence in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors A commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and maintaining high compliance standards Confidence in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors Diversity and Inclusion At Dreamworld, WhiteWater World and SkyPoint, we’re committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment where everyone, guests and Team Members alike, feel valued and respected.
