This is a critical leadership position focused on developing and managing key retail and distribution relationships, increasing market share, and executing strategic initiatives to accelerate revenue growth. Responsibilities Strategic Sales Leadership Develop and lead a comprehensive national sales strategy, targeting high-value retail and distribution partners. Identify opportunities for product placement, promotional campaigns, and in-store initiatives that drive growth and enhance brand presence. Lead commercial negotiations with retail partners to secure optimal agreements, terms, and long-term strategic alignment. Relationship & Account Management Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers across national retail chains. Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, resolving issues promptly and ensuring customer satisfaction at every touchpoint. Team Leadership & Development Recruit, coach, and manage a high-performing sales team focused on achieving and exceeding national retail sales goals. Set clear KPIs, provide ongoing feedback, and foster a culture of accountability, development, and continuous improvement. Market Expansion & Business Development Identify new business opportunities and growth channels within the national retail landscape. Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to inform sales strategy and product positioning. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with marketing teams to co-develop retail-specific campaigns and assets. Partner with product and operations teams to ensure alignment on inventory, fulfilment, and customer expectations. Provide regular updates and reporting to senior leadership, including performance metrics, sales forecasts, and strategic recommendations. Operational Excellence Oversee the national retail sales budget and ensure optimal allocation of resources. Maintain an effective travel schedule to support strong in-person relationships and visibility with key partners. Ensure timely submission of administrative documents and accurate reporting on behalf of customers and the team. Qualifications 8–10 years of progressive experience in sales leadership within sports nutrition, health & wellness, or the FMCG industry. Demonstrated success in leading sales strategies, securing national retail partnerships, and launching new products or brands. Deep understanding of retail categories such as specialty nutrition, food, mass, and pharmacy. Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to translate data into compelling sales strategies. A strategic thinker who can connect high-level vision with clear, actionable plans. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and grow high-performing sales teams.
