IT Governance Specialist Location: Adelaide CBD (Hybrid) Contract: 12-month term Start Date: Early November 2025 End Date: Late October 2026 Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Overview We are seeking an experienced IT Governance Specialist for a 12-month contract within a large, complex organisation. This role will contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT governance frameworks, providing specialist advice and guidance to a range of internal stakeholders on governance, risk, and compliance matters. Working as part of a collaborative governance team, the successful candidate will support a range of governance activities, ensuring alignment with organisational standards, policies, and procedures. The position also involves facilitating risk identification and management, preparing performance reports, and providing governance support to internal committees. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and standards. Promote compliance with internal governance, risk, and assurance processes. Support governance committees through preparation of reports, documentation, and recommendations. Analyse complex data to identify governance gaps or improvement opportunities. Provide clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders to aid decision-making. Contribute to risk management processes and performance reporting. About You Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining IT governance frameworks within a large or complex environment (experience in higher education or the public sector is desirable). Strong understanding of IT risk, compliance, and assurance practices, including familiarity with audit processes, regulatory obligations, and IT control frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, COBIT, ITIL). Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and produce high-quality reports. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience supporting governance committees and facilitating decision-making. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of experience and education/training). Postgraduate qualifications in IT Governance, Risk, or Management are highly regarded. Ongoing professional development in governance, compliance, or IT management disciplines will be viewed favourably. Role Details Standard full-time hours (40 hours per week). Hybrid arrangement – minimum 3 days on-site. Contractor to provide own device (laptop). Mandatory shutdown period applies during December/January (dates to be confirmed).
