Field Service Technician – Mechanical with Electrical Aptitude Location: Brisbane, QLD Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 Super Overtime Allowances Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role We’re currently seeking a Field Service Technician with a strong mechanical background and basic electrical aptitude to join a leading global engineering company that supports industries across Australia and abroad. This role is perfect for mechanically minded tradespeople who enjoy working on rotating equipment, motors, and generators, with some electrical understanding or a QLD Restricted Electrical Licence (disconnect/reconnect). You’ll carry out diagnostics, maintenance, and service work on large-scale rotating machinery—both locally and occasionally offshore—ensuring reliability and performance for a wide range of industrial clients. Key Responsibilities Perform mechanical and minor electrical service work on rotating electrical machines in line with company standards and safety procedures. Work directly with customers to identify opportunities for improvement and provide practical solutions. Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance both on-site and remotely. Prepare tools, parts, and materials required for service activities. Provide technical support, mentoring, and training where required. What We’re Looking For Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or similar. Some electrical aptitude with a QLD Restricted Electrical Licence (disconnect/reconnect) highly regarded. Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience with rotating equipment, motors, or generators. Sound knowledge of OHS standards and safe work practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting. Willingness to travel for service assignments (domestic and occasional overseas). What’s On Offer $100,000 – $110,000 base salary Super. Overtime Living Away from Home Allowances (daily rates vary by location). All travel fully supported – flights, accommodation, and car hire arranged through an internal system. Short-term international assignments (typically 1–3 weeks) across Pacific Island locations such as PNG and Noumea.
