The key duties of the position include The Role The Airfield Operations Manager (AOM) is responsible for managing a broad range of activities and resources at Swartz Barracks, Oakey, as well as the satellite training areas. The AOM provides stakeholders with timely and accurate aviation operations advice and is responsible for the efficient and effective use of airfield resources, at Oakey, Brymaroo and Wyoming in accordance with Defence and Civillian Aviation Regulations (DASR & CASR). The AOM will provide specialised safety and general aviation advice to the Commandant Army Aviation Training Centre Oakey as well as the Base Manager Darling Downs. The AOM will also provide emergency management support and advice with regards to the airfield. The AOM will perform rostered shift work as required. To Summarise: An airport operations manager is in charge of assessing, evaluating, coordinating and overseeing the daily airport operations. Please note Position may require Shift Work and periods of on call duty. About our Team The Airfield Operations Team is responsible to the Airfield Safety and Operations Manager for the safe, effective and efficient delivery of airfield support services. This includes airfield operations, training area coordination and search and rescue duties. The successful delivery of these services ensures that the agreed level of safety for the specified training area requirements is achieved. The AOM will have strong problem solving skills, can handle difficult interpersonal situations and addresses conflict that may arise in day-to -day work activities. The AOM is also expected to have knowledge of airport emergency operations and security regulations.
