Job posting end date: 09/29/2025 Introduction and Team you will belong to This role is primarily responsible for proactively and positively leading the workforce site functions to a high standard and to oversee the day-to-day safe operations of a regional Metso Service Centre. This state-of-the-art facility is Metso’s largest in the southern hemisphere and provides repairs support to the entire Pilbara region. This is a residential position based in Karratha. The Role Demonstrate strong Safety LeadershipRegularly talk about safety performance and concerns whilst emphasising that production will never compromise safetyRecognise and reward good individual and team safety performance, deal firmly and fairly with poor performanceRoll out Metso safety procedures, ‘Life Saving Rules’ and other safety improvement programs at your nominated Service Centre locationLead audits and reviews and ensure HSE performance metrics are met.Lead incident investigations, understand root causes and implement corrective actionEnsure all steps of the QA/QC system are understood and implementedLead and manage the Repairs team and associated Service Centre general operationsGain an understanding of each repair job in progress, walk the floor, guide and mentorProvide guidance and be innovative – help to improve repair methods, identify ways to improve job efficiency and workshop layoutDevelop, coach and mentor your immediate team and all employees within the Service CentreLead customer visits, demonstrate knowledge of the customer’s jobs, answer questions they may have and promote the Metso brand.Liaise with Repairs vendors ensuring company repair procedures are adhered too at all times, repairs are executed safely and to the required quality standard, on time and under budgetAuthorise the issue and return of drawings and technical information under the 'Document Control’ procedureWork with global and local teams to implement new Repair opportunitiesWork closely with product groups to maximise equipment improvements and innovationsAssist in gaining information on key performance metrics for the Repairs teamMonitor Service Centre P&L ensuring all costs are managed within set budget requirements and profitability is maintainedManage staff utilisation and ensure absorption of overheads meet budget requirementsCreate an annual capital expenditure plan and create business cases for each itemInvestigate customer feedback, warranties and NCRs (non-conformance reports) to learn and improveActively promote and participate in local community organisations and events The successful candidate will possess the following: Essential Proven repair service management experience in progressively responsible positionsMinimum 10 years’ experience in Maintenance / Repairs within the mining industryRelevant Technical Qualifications, including a Trade or Tertiary qualification in a related engineering disciplinePro-active leadership training and development experiences and demonstrated exposuresAbility to work in and make a positive and professional contribution to a team environment at all levels.Well-developed presentation skills along with oral and written communication skills to a high standardExcellent time management skills Desirable Experienced and familiar with Metso mining equipmentExperience with engineering repair procedures and practisesExperience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and operational manuals We understand that some highly capable candidates might hesitate to apply for a role unless they meet every listed qualification.
