What We Are Looking For We are looking for a Commercial Manager with solid experience on large infrastructure Projects. This Project-based role will manage the post-award commercial and finance administration functions, as well as leading the review and audit of the production of commercial and project reporting to meet management and statutory commercial requirements. The candidate will be able to work in metropolitan construction site locations around Melbourne on a Monday to Friday roster, and ideally have: Tertiary Qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commercial Law or similar is mandatory. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior commercial roles in the Construction or Resource industry with at least 3 working for a Contractor. Experience involved in detailed application of commercial and finance systems and processes and providing high-level guidance and advice to operational and project managers. Experience in effective and profitable management of contracts. This includes identification of, and managing risks, cost, and Change management along with tendering and awarding project procurement. The role will be key in maintaining client relationships, analysing strategies, creating mitigation measures, and developing improved action plans for the profitability of the Project. Strong negotiator with a proven track record of settling claims. Taking this into account, the role requires sophisticated communication and influencing skills. Ability to mentor junior team members. Responsibilities Include Reporting to the Project Manager, responsibilities include: Prepare and submit monthly client progress claims Oversee cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting Manage project procurement Manage site (contract) administration Head contract and Subcontractor Administration Assist with financial audits (internal and external). Monitor and report on government policy requirements. Provide commercial advice and support to the project team.
