Irregular and Intermittent Employees (IIEs/Casual) are employed with the Australian Border Force (ABF) at the APS2 classification and assist frontline operational teams to meet peaks associated with the movement of people and goods across the border. IIEs are predominantly required to work at international airports to alleviate pressure on existing teams during periods of increased flight departures and arrivals. They are also utilised to work in teams dealing Maritime as well as general administration areas. IIEs receive a 25 per cent loading on the base hourly rate of their classification.
