About the role As the Inclusive City Program Officer, you will play a key role in fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and connected Hobart community. Using a community development approach, you will collaborate across the Community Programs Group to design and deliver initiatives that respond to the diverse needs of residents - particularly in the areas of homelessness and LGBTIQ. Role accountabilities include: Develop and implement inclusive community programs that promote equity, wellbeing and lifelong learning, including delivering actions for the City's LGBTIQ and Affordable Housing and Homelessness Commitments. Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organisations, government departments, and internal teams to advance the City of Hobart's inclusion and equity objectives. Coordinate and support key initiatives and events, such as the Community Awards Program, Children's Mayor Program, and Anti-Poverty Week, while also contributing to the effective management of community facilities . You're confident working with diverse communities to deliver meaningful programs and initiatives. Your communication skills, stakeholder engagement abilities, and project management expertise make you a trusted collaborator and advocate for positive change. You will bring: Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Communications, Project Management, or equivalent practical experience. Demonstrated experience in community development or engagement, with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary practice and the ability to respond to the needs and aspirations of the Hobart community. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across sectors and prepare high-quality reports, correspondence, and grant updates.
