The Assistant Head of Faculty may be required to be present on the campus before and beyond the regular timetabled day and during non-term time. Assistant Head of Faculty Duties An Assistant Head of Faculty is responsible for; Supporting the Head of Faculty, particularly with the administrative requirements of the faculty. Contributing to, setting and achieving faculty goals. Collaborating to lead faculty processes including BSSS compliance, learning and assessment requirement, moderation processes, differentiation. Support the organisation of faculty specific events, including competitions, carnivals, information events, sharecases, excursions, enrichment activities. Enable effective and consistent use of the Learning Management System (The Portal) across the faculty. Providing support for personalised plans as relevant to your faculty. Communicate with parents regarding faculty matters. Engage with professional networks. Other duties as directed by the Head of Faculty or Head of Senior School. Teaching Duties Use a broad range of teaching strategies to deliver quality programs that are inclusive of all students and are responsive to their learning strengths and needs. Establish a rapport with students to create inclusive, supportive and cohesive learning environments. Work collaboratively with colleagues. Communicate with colleagues, students and parents in a respectful, effective and professional way. Actively participate in the school’s co-curricular program, providing appropriate duty of care and supervision. Participate in the pastoral care program and if required, teach a Pastoral Care class. Actively participate in professional learning activities aligned with the school’s priorities. Other duties as required. Selection Criteria An appropriate 4 Year Education Degree and registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute. Demonstrated passion for effective learning and teaching. Experience as a secondary teacher. Demonstrated leadership skills/experience in pedagogy and curriculum development. Demonstrated capacity as an instructional leader. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong administration and organisational skills, including in the use of School Box. Willingness to deliver professional learning to teachers. Interest in, and willingness to explore, innovative practices. Salary, Terms and Conditions The successful applicant will be employed under the Independent Schools (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025, as a Level 1 leadership position.
