ABOUT THE ROLE The Academic Quality Team works across and with all areas of the institute to raise awareness of quality requirements, build capability of staff to meet quality standards, educate and review practices to ensure quality remains a focus for all staff in everything that we do. Bringing together elements of the Education Plan and the Student Experience Plan, the EQF supports improved educational experiences for students and provides improved education for staff to ensure quality outcomes. The position reports to the Manager Academic Quality and works closely with other members of the Teaching and Learning team, including Education Consultants and Quality Improvement Program (QIP) officers, to monitor quality through quality reviews and QIP results, to design areas for development of staff identified through those investigations and work with business areas to prepare for external audits from state funding bodies and regulators. The Senior Academic Quality Officer will take the lead, when the Manager Academic Quality is not available, in responding to requests from the business and keeping the work of the Academic quality team on schedule Key responsibilities include: Work with Chisholm leaders and key stakeholders to provide advice and guidance on quality concerns and issues through a sound understanding of Chisholm policy and procedures around academic quality. Lead Quality Reviews in accordance with schedule and report findings to Manager Academic Quality and business area managers Develop and implement supporting guidelines, checklists and information to assist management and staff to prepare for internal and external audits Design audit checklists and processes to elicit information about current practice in teaching and learning in comparison to the standards required. Design, develop and maintain a proactive thematic focus plan to meet the business requirements of delivery areas and report any quality gaps identified, liaising with other Teaching and Learning stakeholders for implementation and support. Review and approve Training and Assessment Strategies on development and review to ensure compliance with training package, purchasing guide and the Standards and make recommendations for change where necessary Monitor periods of accreditation for external bodies and advise and guide business areas with preparation for accreditation visits by external organisations, ie ANMAC, Worksafe, Vic Police etc Analyse surveys responses from students and employers as determined by policy and regulation, provide reports to business areas from analysis of data received with recommendation for improvement actions Conduct Internal Audit against funding contract, self-assurance activities for ASQA declaration and delegation of authority, contributing to reports for approval by VEAB and Chief of Education Audit marketing materials, including student guides, course information and international student guides and social media material annually to ensure compliance with Standards for RTOs, ESOS Act and the National Code and VET Student Loans guidelines Provide reports and advice to support the Course review processes implemented by the Course Advisory Board and the VEAB. Build and maintain strategic relationships, alliances and partnerships with delivery areas and industry. Develop action plans in collaboration with Business Area Manager to address findings of audits, monitor actions against plans and contribute to report on progress to plans at Vocational Education Academic Board (VEAB) Providing advice to business areas who are seeking to write and accredit new courses, convene oversight committees and assist with templates and support to implement policy. Liaise with Education consultants, PEC staff and QIP officers to develop annual Quality Review Plan and Focus Plan to deliver training and coaching to support quality improvement and preparations for registration audits. ABOUT YOU You are a highly motivated individual with- Sound knowledge of ASQA, ESOS, VRQA, VCAA and HESG compliance, Sound knowledge of best practice training delivery Sound knowledge of best practice assessment and validation practice Knowledge of training packages and the VET environment. Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with industry groups and regulators Experience in preparation for external audits and conducting internal audits Qualifications required for the role: Extensive experience in educational quality assurance and leadership Desirable qualifications include Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or a Higher VET or adult teaching qualification ABOUT US Chisholm is one of the largest vocational training providers in the state with a team of over 1,400 dedicated staff supporting 41,000 students who choose to study at Chisholm and training at our modern campuses across Melbourne’s southeast and online.
