The Medical Workforce – Junior Medical Officer (JMO) Unit is responsible for the management of Medical Workforce across the sector and undertakes all aspects of human resource management, financial management and general administration including medical staff information management, budget management and other responsibilities as delegated. This position provides a high-quality administrative service to support the efficient and effective operation of the Medical Workforce – JMO Unit in Rostering and Payroll processes and reports to the JMO Manager. This position is responsible for: cost effective, fair and equitable rostering processes for all Medical Workforce through the HealthRoster system and ensuring that best practice rostering processes are followed. accurate data entry of JMO rosters in HealthRoster and verification of hours worked, actioning of audit reports, and leave management processes to ensure a complete and accurate file containing all payroll information for the JMO workforce is transferred to Health Support Services (HSS) to achieve business and service objectives. Superior rostering skills are required to roster in an equitable and cost-effective way, and in compliance with award requirements and safe hours. A comprehensive knowledge of relevant industrial awards, legislative requirements and policies and procedures is required as well as timely and accurate provision of advice on such matters to JMO’s and stakeholders. Selection Criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources or relevant equivalent work experience with an ability to interpret awards, agreements and employment legislation, ideally in a Medical Workforce setting that includes rostering and payroll experience Demonstrated knowledge of rostering best practice and remuneration processes and practices with the ability to interpret employment conditions Demonstrated ability to perform a range of management and administrative tasks, monitoring and managing work priorities of staff and adjust workflows as required Demonstrated high level of attention to detail with an ability to identify and escalate significant issues as they arise quickly and accurately, especially in rostering processes Demonstrated effective time management skills, ability to determine priorities with the ability to prioritise workload to meet conflicting deadlines Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service Ability to work independently as a member of a team in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment Our CORE Values are Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment and have been created by employees for employees and help define how we work and to inspire positive interactions in the workplace.
