As a Veterinary Administration Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the team with administration support to ensure the smooth running of the veterinary hospital each day. About the role: As a Veterinary Administration Assistant , you will be responsible for providing vital administrative support to the Veterinary team, such as medical record keeping, surgery list planning, auditing of paperwork and stock control. Key Responsibilities: Undertake administration tasks such as ensuring accurate paperwork is available for veterinary staff to complete. Preparing admit and discharge paperwork for shelter animals being desexed before they are reclaimed. Processing of completed surgery paperwork. As directed by the veterinary team, update Shelter mate information in accordance with directions for record keeping. Processing Microchip subscription paperwork forms. Assist the veterinary team with running of treatment lists. First point of contact for veterinary questions relating to the veterinary hospital. Booking surgical appointments on behalf of veterinarians or other department staff. About you: To be successful in this role, you will be someone who enjoys administrative work and has a high attention to detail. We are looking for someone who is enthusiast to learn and upskill in the veterinary field, as you will be receiving and processing medical information for the shelter animals. You will also have basic knowledge of general animal husbandry, and a passion for animal welfare. You will also have: Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with both internal and external stakeholders. Administration and customer service experience. Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Proficient time management and multitasking skills. Demonstrated high attention to detail across all aspects of work. Capacity to remain resilient in a challenging environment, including exposure to behavioural euthanasia. Strong initiative and ability to anticipate the needs of the veterinary team.
