Job Description ACCIONA is now looking for a Safety Advisor - Marine to join the Alkimos Desalinisation Project in Perth. They will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of the Alkimos project. This role involves conducting risk assessments, enforcing safety protocols, investigating incidents, and providing training to night shift workers. The Advisor works closely with the Construction Marine teams to maintain a safe working environment and ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations. The Project The Alkimos SeaWater Alliance project will deliver WA's next major water source - A new seawater desalination plant at Alkimos. At completion of stage 1 the plant will supply up to 50 billion litres of clean, safe drinking water to millions of Western Australians each year. The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks. Responsibilities: Assisting with setup of new works within the Australian Marine Complex at Henderson Port area and during transit, setup and works on the barge Developing and maintaining effective external stakeholder (e.g. Fremantle Port Authority) relationships and developing processes to adhere to stakeholder requirements (i.e. induction, site access, communications) Conducting risk assessments and in field review of port and marine activities Provide on-site immediate support for emergencies or other health related issues Maintain effective communications and support between facilities Required Skills and Competencies Experience in marine construction safety, including barge and port operations Strong knowledge of marine safety regulations and stakeholder compliance (e.g. Fremantle Port Authority) Skilled in conducting risk assessments and in-field safety reviews Ability to respond to emergencies and health-related incidents on-site Experience delivering safety training, especially for night shift workers Proven ability to build relationships with external stakeholders Strong communication skills to support marine construction teams Self-sufficient and proactive, capable of working independently in high-risk environments ACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
