About the position The purpose of this role is to assist to plan, manage and deliver a range of community and events and activities. The role will work in partnership with key stakeholders to host successful Council events and support partnership events. The role will assist to develop and promote a dynamic annual events program which attracts visitors to the shire, improves the lifestyle of all residents and drives economic and community benefit. Key Responsibilities Actively collaborate with community and business stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver events to position the region as a destination and create unique experiences. Assist in planning, coordinating and delivering Councils annual events program and build capacity in partnership to meet ccommunity, attract visitors and economic activity to the Shire. Undertake procurement and manage contracts with event contractors associated with events and effectively monitor event budgets, reporting any significance to Management. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive event attendance and highlight event success. Apply event and project management expertise to assist in the successful delivery of multiple events within tight deadlines and resource constraints. Liaise with government agencies to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, approvals, and risk management, while negotiating positive outcomes. About you Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Event Management or Marketing (Certificate IV minimal qualifications), or equivalent qualifications and more than 5 years of equivalent experience. Experience providing high level customer service and effectively dealing with conflict. Demonstrated experience in event and/or project management, successfully delivering multiple events within tight timeframes. A current NSW Drivers License. Demonstrated experience and/or capability to deliver the Job Specific Key Accountabilities (outlined in the Position Description). Demonstrated Fundamental key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table (outlined in the position Description).
