We are seeking an Integrated Water Management Specialist for our colleagues at Hume City Council in Northern Melbourne. Your new role will commence ASAP and run initially until April 2026 before likely extension, should you make yourself indispensable. On offer is an hourly rate ranging from $54.56 to 60.45, and depending on skills and experience. The focus of this very special role will be to secure steady and efficient progress in a number of planned and ongoing stormwater harvesting projects, to gain approvals for all projects, and to work across all of Council's facilities, and the wider community, to progress efficient water management. Your duties will be very cool and include: Championing and coordination of the development, implementation, monitoring, review and reporting of Hume’s Integrated Water Management (IWM) Plan. Development and coordination of the delivery of IWM projects including undertaking research, securing funding, managing budgets, engaging and working with consultants, leading diverse project teams and liaising with stakeholders. Developing, supporting and helping to build the capacity of an integrated water management community of practice across Council Provision of strategic and technical advice for IWM projects and asset management Development, review and provision of input into guidelines and documentation relating to IWM outcomes Representing Hume City Council at external IWM events such as the Department of Energy, Environment, and Climate Action Integrated Water Management Forums Having a very strong environmental background, Osborne Richardson simply love assisting Local Councils with roles as specialist and interesting as this. In order to establish this, please ensure you review the following key selection criteria closely before applying: Tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental sciences, environmental policy or a related field or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience. Very solid understanding and application of the principals and practices of best practice Integrated Water Management. Substantial experience in the development, coordination and review of environmental strategies and policies. Demonstrated ability to identify and set future directions and to develop strategies and policies to achieve sound IWM outcomes to build the resilience of Council operations and services Contributing leadership to the Climate Action Integration team by mentoring, developing and supporting staff in collaboration with the Coordinator . Demonstrated high level experience in environmental management including project management of IWM projects. Demonstrated ability to gain cooperation and assistance and help build capacity of colleagues, contractors and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and implement projects.
