THE ROLE Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this role is all about building strong relationships and driving commercial sales across a variety of client groups — from builders and electricians to wholesale and project customers. You’ll be the key point of contact for your portfolio, managing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring every interaction reflects Beacon Lighting’s commitment to exceptional service and innovative solutions. Key responsibilities include: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing commercial customers Meeting and exceeding personal sales and gross profit targets Preparing and presenting quotes, trade agreements and product proposals Collaborating with internal teams to support project delivery and customer satisfaction Providing expert product knowledge and market insights to clients and internal stakeholders Representing Beacon Lighting at meetings, presentations, and industry events Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of sales activity and customer feedback Promoting compliance with Beacon Lighting’s values, policies, and procedures ABOUT YOU You’re a confident communicator with a natural ability to build rapport and influence outcomes. You're driven by results, motivated by challenges, and thrive in a fast-paced sales environment. Your strong commercial acumen, combined with your ability to understand client needs, makes you a trusted advisor. To be successful in this role, you will have: Proven experience in a customer-facing sales role (B2B experience preferred) Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills Excellent communication – in person, on the phone, and in writing A proactive and self-motivated approach to work The ability to lift and move stock items (up to 15kg) when required The ability to work autonomously and within a team Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and confidence using CRM/ERP systems A flexible, hands-on attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service ABOUT BEACON LIGHTING Our story began in Melbourne in 1967 with a single store and the drive to brighten up people's lives.
