This is a diverse and fast-paced full-time role based predominantly in Orange, NSW delivering a major infrastructure project for an international mine owner. You’ll work closely with teams across project management, supervision, engineering, training, and people and culture to provide support and maintain client WHS team relations. Responsibilities Undertake project site safety inspections/observations to ensure all activities are being performed to health and safety policies, procedures, legislation and guidelines. Coordinate the implementation of key WHS strategies and activities to ensure WHS understanding and implementation across the whole project team. Provide specialist advice and guidance to staff on site in relation to general health and safety matters and work closely with them to identify concerns and mitigate risks. Conduct WHS audits, including the provision of audit reports to clients and senior management determining trends and recommending actions. Keep informed of all developments in legislative requirements, industry standards and best practices and ensure that these are always followed with a high priority to workplace health and safety. Promote WHS awareness across project sites of all WHS‐related activities. Maintain a productive team environment where high morale contributes to the satisfactions of client and business objectives. Essential Skills and Attributes Background in WHS, Plant Operation, Civil Construction and/or Mining/Quarrying processes. Comprehensive knowledge of the applicable Federal and State legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice. Demonstrated experience working with regulatory bodies. Demonstrated experience managing multiple activities and maintaining focus on priorities. Highly effective communication, interpersonal, and planning skills. Highly effective planning, organising and problem-solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others. Ability to investigate accidents and incidents and implement recommendation for preventative action at a high level. What’s next?
