Your Opportunity We are looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our team at Westfield Mt Druitt. This is an impactful and operationally critical role, where customer experience sits at the heart of every decision. You’ll help create the environments our customers love, ensuring the centre is safe, welcoming, and performing at its best every day. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you’ll oversee the delivery of high-quality facilities and asset services, balancing technical expertise with a strong commitment to customer experience. You’ll play a key role in ensuring life safety, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and innovation, maximising the full potential of our centre and supporting a seamless customer journey. Day-to-day you will be responsible for: Supporting the delivery of day-to-day, best-in-class facilities services in line with the needs of the Centre team to achieve excellence in customer experience. Providing leadership and coaching to our Facilities Coordinator. Ensuring all asset maintenance, repair and capital works are delivered accurately on time, and within budget by effectively managing contract partners. Supporting the development of asset life cycle plans for the centre. Providing immediate response to emergencies, evacuations, or other incidents within the centre. Participating in Duty Management responsibilities on a roster basis (including occasional weekend shifts, balanced with a day off in lieu). What sets you apart We’re looking for a proactive and driven individual ready to grow in facilities management. Success in this role comes from hands-on experience, strong leadership, and a customer-first mindset. Background in retail, hospitality, property, or facilities management, with a focus on operational excellence. Experience in hard services (such as HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems) will be highly regarded. Proven ability to manage maintenance tasks and projects efficiently, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget control. Experience leading compliance and safety initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulations and internal policies. Confidence in working with contractors, service providers, and internal teams to maintain high standards. Ability to adapt quickly, address unexpected challenges, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
